Courier Announces Finalists In 'Best Real Estate Agent Contest'

November 11, 2010

The Courier readers wrote thoughtful letters representing more than 150 homes purchased or sold in our area. Each letter nominated a member of our own real-estate community to be named the winner of the paper’s “Best Real Estate Agent Contest 2010.”

Ten finalists have been chosen for The Courier’s second annual “Best Real Estate Agent Contest 2010.” The winner will be announced next week.

The finalists include: Ronna Mee Brand, Brand Realty Inc.; Elaine Dannenberg, Nelson Shelton & Associates; Timothy Di Prizito, Nourmand & Associates; Judy Feder, Nourmand & Associates, Cathy Hodes Greenly, Coldwell Banker South; Jerry Jolton, Coldwell Banker Previews International; Brooke Knapp & Drew Mandile, Sotheby’s International Realty, Rochelle Maize, Nourmand & Associates, Alexandra North, North Real Estates Services, and Dale Shephard, Coldwell Banker South.
Beverly Hills has long been known as the residence of the elite and its real estate agents have always catered to and served their clientele with the finest customer service, thoroughness, and reputation for integrity, as well as a commitment to community involvement that goes beyond the call of duty. The Courier sought to identify the real estate agent who best exemplifies this devotion to his or her clients in the eyes of our readers and invited all Beverly Hills residents, former homeowners and their families to submit their nominations for “The Best Real Estate Agent in Beverly Hills 2010.”
Readers were asked to submit a 100-200 word essay explaining why the nominee is the “best.” Entry drop boxes were located in real estate offices throughout Beverly Hills. The reader who submitted the entry for the winning real estate agent will receive two roundtrip first-class tickets to New York City on American Airlines, a two-night stay at The Intercontinental New York Times Square, and two tickets to a performance at the American Airlines Theatre. The winning couple will also be hosted by Bryant Park Grill for dinner for two on both nights. The winners will also be featured in a video promotion on The Beverly Hills Courier and American Airlines websites with footage they take of the prize trip.
The winning agent will be recognized in a front page feature story in The Courier and a $1,000 donation in his or her name to KCET. The winning submission will be selected by The Courier’s senior editorial staff only. Scoring procedures by all judges will be identical and consider the reader’s description of the realestate agent’s level of customer service, thoroughness, reputation for integrity, and community involvement, regardless of the size of the account or the amount of business conducted by the agent. “Selecting the finalists from all the nominations was difficult,” said The Courier‘s Publisher Clif Smith. “We relied exclusively on the readers’ submissions. “Since this was a readers’ contest, the quality of the essay, as judged by the editorial staff, was the final determining factor,” Smith said.
Notable Entrants: Arnold Rifkin, John Nickoll, Alan Singer, Nan and Gene Corman, Valerie Harper, Jamie McCourt, Sharona Nazarian,  Grant A. Tinker, Steven Cojocaru, David Saperstein,  John K. Van de Kamp, Adam Checchi and Diane Merrick.
The Courier wishes to thank its “Best Real Estate Agent Contest 2010” sponsors:  American Airlines, The Intercontinental New York Times Square and Bryant Park Grill.
