By Slade Smith

And the winner is ... Michael Libow of Coldwell Banker Beverly Hills. The winning essayist is Beverly Hills resident and Courier reader Peggy Simons of N. Roxbury Dr.

Essays were submitted by over 100 Courier readers who nominated more than 70 Beverly Hills real estate agents as “Best Real Estate Agent in Beverly Hills 2009.” Rounding out the Top Five Real Estate Agents in Beverly Hills for 2009 are, in addition to winner Michael Libow, Cathy Ferraro (Ferraro & Associates), Jerry Jolton (Coldwell Banker), Brooke Knapp (Sotheby’s) and Drew Mandile (Sotheby’s).Each of our top five received multiple nominations.

“We’ve had some comments from investors: ‘Anything under $115,000 or $120,000 that’s less than 15 years old, we’ll take,’ with almost no questions asked,” said Bob Stickney, general manager for Century 21/Doug Anderson & Associates in Lancaster.

Finalists for the top honor were Elaine Dannenberg (Prudential Realty), Judy Feder (Nourmand & Associates), Tania Ferris (Coldwell Banker), Martin Geimer (Coldwell Banker), Bernice Gershon & Janine Gershon Friedberg (Coldwell Banker), Rochelle Maize (Nourmand & Associates), David Kramer (Hilton & Hyland), Alison Mitchell (Keller Williams), Michael Nourmand (Nourmand & Associates) and Myra Nourmand (Nourmand & Associates).

The Courier commends for their demonstrated professionalism the following 10 real estate agents: Timothy DiPrizito (Nourmand & Associates), Valerie Fitzgerald (The Valerie Fitzgerald Group), Ron Goldhammer (Prudential Realty), Vangelis Korasidis (Coldwell Banker), Sandy Lewis (Coldwell Banker), Kay Pick (Coldwell Banker), Cynthia Radom (Coldwell Banker), Judi Schryro (Hilton & Hyland), Barbra Stover (Rodeo Realty) and Bobby Syed (Coldwell Banker).

Selecting the winner from among the top nominations was very difficult. We relied exclusively on the readers’ submissions in selecting The Courier Readers’ Choice Award, Best Real Estate Agent in Beverly Hills 2009. Since this was a readers’ contest, the quality of the essay, as judged by The Courier’s editorial staff, was the final determining factor.

The following data came from readers’ submissions:
